Above the Blue - Coastal Watercolour Workshop (11-16 years)

A$30.00

Date: Sunday, 18th October, 2026

Time: 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Ages: 11-16 years

Location: Curl Curl Creative Space, 105 Abbott Rd, North Curl Curl NSW 2096

Explore water from above with a 2 hour watercolour workshop. Young artists will draw inspiration from the colours, patterns and shapes seen from above to recreate movement, ripples and waves.

Using watercolour, children will experiment with washes, layering, colour and pattern to create their own aerial ocean artwork. They’ll explore scale and perspective by incorporating tiny surfers, swimmers or whales into their compositions, creating a sense of the vastness and movement of the sea.

The workshop encourages observation, experimentation and imagination while developing watercolour skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. All abilities - No prior experience needed.

This workshop is supported by the Northern Beaches Council Arts & Creativity Grant, giving the community access to one of Amber’s popular workshops at a reduced cost.

Workshop Inclusions:

  • All brushes, paints & papers to use

  • Reference Images

Note to parents/guardians:

  • This workshop is designed for school-aged children 11-16 years. If you’re unsure if it is suitable for you child, please don’t hesitate to contact prior to booking.

  • Ensure children wear suitable clothing for potential paint splatters (or an apron if you wish) and enclosed shoes
